Koyo Bearings

At the dawn of Japanese industry, Koyo Seiko and Toyoda Machine Works emerged as pioneering businesses. In 2006, they merged to form JTEKT, "a new global company combining modern innovation with a rich heritage."
There are various types of rolling element bearings. The key to identifying a bearing type lies in the style of the rolling element itself. Ball bearings, despite their different configurations and designs, are still classified as ball bearings due to their rolling elements. Bearings with roller elements can come in different shapes. This section includes ball-type cylindrical rollers, needle rollers, tapered rollers, spherical rollers, and convex rollers.
Roller bearings have a line contact area between the rollers and rings, providing heavier load capacities compared to the point contact of a ball bearing. However, the point contact ball generates less rolling friction than a roller element bearing, making it better suited for higher operating speeds.
